Commercial Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning

Commercial Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning systems

It is a well-known fact that air-conditioning and refrigeration devices add to greenhouse gasses which causes the degeneration of our atmosphere. However, with proper planning we can reduce the use of these devices by maximizing their usage through a well-designed system.

Commercial Refrigeration and  Air-Conditioning  (CRAC) systems are normally referred to as typical design for office buildings and commercial lots. Efficient design of a CRAC system reduces overall energy consumption from the  system and further helps regulates the temperature and airflow of the building resulting in a more comfortable Indoor Environment Quality (IEQ). Proper ventilation keeps the building free of mould and harmful organisms, reducing the spread of disease within the building.

Our CRAC design process starts with a building Energy Modelling exercise and once the load profile is clearlyunderstood, then all efforts are made to add on energy saving equipment to lower the maximum demand, produce cooling at lower utility rates and concurrently CRAC equipment such as the central chiller plant or the distributed VRV systems are selected. The design and the equipment selection are in accordance with ASHRAE ( American Society of Heating ,Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Engineers ) or local standards , whichever more stringent. The design is also carried out minimize initial cost and to reduce the Operational cost and allow for much easier maintenance in the long run.

Benefiting from good CRAC design and operations
Well-regulated CRAC systems will not only provide the benefits mentioned above, but help saves energy costs up to 30% to 40% due to its efficient use of resources. This lowers overhead costs and makes for an eco friendly environment

Testing , Adjusting and Balancing

Blue Snow provides Testing, Adjusting and Balancing (TAB) services through our global partner. Our TAB covers both the air-side and the water-side of the CRAC system and includes pre-functional tests and functional performance tests. TAB ensures that the client gets the design exactly as specified by the Mechanical Design Consultant and equipment  installed performs as specified in the Tender and Product Specifications

Existing Buildings

For existing buildings, Blue Snow can also reduce energy consumption by a thorough systematic examination of the existing CRAC system, analyzing it and presenting our clients with well-thought out and workable options. TAB may also need to be carried out as part of retro-commissioning process.

Finding solutions and winning combinations for our clients are part of our culture here at Blue Snow.
